Battle Cleric Class (1.3) - Adventurer Class

Battle Clerics go by many names and are found in every culture except for the Dark Elves that worship the Dark Lady.

 

Playing the Battle Cleric

This is a very important combat support class that is vital for a well rounded party. This class is also effective at fighting undead and their ilk. If you want to take advantage of the full benefits of the Battle Cleric you will need to wear appropriate armor. If you do not want to wear armor that is fine but you will not maximize the class's abilities. The class can be played on the front line of battle or to the rear supporting others. Notice that the Battle Cleric is one of the only classes that is not able to use a Dagger or Knife in combat. But, your character could carry one for utility purposes.

Abilities

Armor Allowed: Level 2 armor

Weapons Allowed: stick, club, single handed mace, single handed hammer

Abilities

  • Shield Use: Can use shields (except for tower/body shields).

  • Healing Touch: Can heal 4 hp per level per day. 1 Hp is regained per touch and must be called out. Cannot be used on characters that are at 0 HP. The touches much be a full range of motion, no short burst "taps".

  • Mass Heal - can be used during combat. Can be used one time a day (1/day) and can be renewed by the Entertainer. Each of your party (including the Battle Cleric) is healed for 1 HP. Must be called out. This DOES NOT work on players already reduced to 0 HP.  It only works for players with at least 1 HP.

  • Can Use Divine Scrolls

  • Ghost Talker: can communicate with Ghosts.

  • Revive Undead: May restore an undead creature controlled by a necromancer to 1 hp. This means some sort of Zombie or other undead, not a player that is at 0 HP. This requires a touch with your weapon or hand. Does not count if you touch the target's shield or weapon. Once this is completed the controlling Necromancer loses control of the formerly undead player. 1 time per day (1/day) and can be renewed by an Entertainer. This CAN BE used on NPC undead.

  • Level 2:  Holy Blast -  2 points of damage. Can be blocked by shields and armor. Deals double damage to undead and demons. 6 per day (6/day). Can be renewed by the Entertainer. This is a white spell pack. Damage must be called out, also extra damage versus undead and demons must be called out if they are the target of the spell.

  • Level 3: Cultural Ability

  • Level 4: Improved Mass Heal - can be used during combat. Can be used one time a day (1/day) and can be renewed by the Entertainer. Each of your party (including the Battle Cleric) is healed for 2 HP. This DOES NOT work on players already reduced to 0 HP. It only works for players with at least 1 HP.

  • Level 5:  Improved Holy Blast -  3 points of damage. Can be blocked by shields and armor.  Deals double damage to undead and demons. This is a white spell pack. Damage must be called out, also extra damage versus undead and demons must be called out if they are the target of the spell.

  • Level 6: Cultural Ability

  • Level 7:  Holy Defender, Holy Inquisitor, or Hospitlar - May take the title and rank of either Holy Defender, Holy Inquisitor, or Hospitlar. At the beginning of every event gain 10 GP as support from the church or your followers.  

  • Expert Holy Blast -  4 points of damage. Can be blocked by shields but pierces (cannot be blocked) by armor.  Deals double damage to undead and demons. 6 per day. Can be renewed by the Entertainer. Damage must be called out, also extra damage versus undead and demons must be called out if they are the target of the spell.

  • Level 8: Expert Mass Heal - can be used during combat. Can be used one time a day (1/day) and can be renewed by the Entertainer.  Each of your party (including the Battle Cleric) is healed for 3 HP. This DOES NOT work on players already reduced to 0 HP.  It only works for players with at least 1 HP.

  • Level 9: Cultural Ability

  • Level 10: High Priest, High Patriarch, High Matriarch, or Master Templar - Gain any of those as a rank and title. Gain 20 GP from the church or your followers at the beginning of each event.  

  • Master Holy Blast: 4 points of damage.CANNOT  be blocked by shields Or Armor.  Deals double damage to undead and demons. Deals double damage to undead and demons. 6 per day (6/day) and can be renewed by the Entertainer. Damage must be called out, also extra damage versus undead and demons must be called out if they are the target of the spell.
