"Lemon Gren" is the name by which he is known across the land, yet few have ever pondered his true origins or the stock from which he sprang. Though common rumor holds him to be the true-begotten child of Mango, the truth lies on a darker path. Now fourteen winters of age, this roguish dwarf was born in the stone-wrought halls of Armskirk to a mother and father whose names have long been swallowed by silence. In his earliest years, he was a lad of a troublesome and unquiet spirit, walking daily into mischief; yet from this wild youth, he forged a sharp and cunning mind, learning to tread unseen where others stumbled.
As his stealth grew, his knife grew colder. In time, the shadow-agents of Armskirk and its neighboring towns began to employ the youth for swift, secret deeds of steel. But a day came in Armskirk when fortune turned against him; caught in an act of outlawry against the town's law, Lemon fled from the wrath of the watchmen, vanishing into the deep, untamed forests. For two long years, he dwelt as a wild thing among the trees, fashioning a secret refuge high in the boughs. It was there, from his wooden perch, that he espied a strange druid wandering through the green gloom. Lemon followed the traveler with footfalls as light as falling leaves, noting that the hermit was accompanied by a small, curious companion. At last, the druid’s keen senses perceived the stalker, and he halted to demand the lad's name. Thus, beneath the forest canopy, Lemon spoke his piece, and learned that he had crossed paths with Mango and the creature Blueberry Gren.
