Lightbringer's Survivor Story

The days now are getting shorter and the nights colder. I rubbed my hands together over the fire trying to get some feeling of warmth as I scanned the faces of my comrades.
Just days ago we were attending the Harvest in Lullin. We helped the town make a contract with the Lizard folk, stop the Grove from being burned down, all while trying to keep a watch on the local vampires. Yes, vampires, a known entity that I have encountered before so they weren’t hard to spot. However these vampires were nothing like the ones I have encountered previously. They were faster, stronger and did not have the regular weaknesses. This was unfortunately discovered when we were invited to the Duke’s manor.
Upon entering the manor everyone was asked to relinquish their weapons which at the time wasn’t an issue. I had other ways of dealing with the vampires that I knew were within. The grand hall of the manor was dimly lit by candle light and a lavish table was set up with various delicacies which I inspected thoroughly before giving Cunan the go ahead to sample the cheesecake they had available.
While Cunan was enjoying the cheesecake and complaining about me stopping him because he is immune to poison I however didn’t touch anything on that table. I instead was keeping an eye on the vampires who were moving around and greeting all the guests. One of them even sampled the garlic I had recently harvested, which unsettled me and was the first clue that something was different about these vampires.
As the banquet progressed I started to become more and more unsettled. Then when Mousse was brought before the Baroness for a toast I knew something was going to occur but I was ready and I motioned for my group to prepare. But when the Baroness said she was “thankful for the livestock” as she ripped into Mousse’s neck our magic faltered, it had been disconnected without our knowledge. So our spells failed upon our lips and before I knew it I was attacked and killed.
Sometime later I opened my eyes to the grim face of Elidgan who informed me that the vampires had slaughtered everyone but she had managed to get help and have us revived. Now we are on the run from those vampires and I have a very important task that I must complete. I have to alert every magic counsel, The Order of the Emerald Dawn, The Grove of Shiandria, The Temple of the Morgan, The Temple of the Seven Moon, etc., about the weapon that the vampires have that strips magic away without the practitioner being aware.
Though the fire warmth was nice I turned away and called out to my avian friends in the forest as I retrieved quill and parchment and began to write.
Dear Order of the Emerald Dawn
I must inform you of a magic weapon that strips away the powers of all magic users…..
