Crimson Harvest Aftermath - The Fate of Ar’calima Crann: A Letter to the Home Grove

Dearest Grove of Shiandria,

I, Ar’calima Crann, am writing to send word of the events that took place at The Crimson Harvest in the town of Lullin, in the heart of Emerald Folk Lands. Much has transpired, from the overthrow or corruption of the local town government to the murder of one of the brave heroes who stood against the darkness.

Upon arrival at the town of Lullin, a dark shroud of ash hung in the air. The holy temple of the elements had been defiled and its precious sacred stones had been scattered throughout the land. The Dark Paladin Thorgrim had been placed in charge of the guards at the behest of the Vampire Duke Guaicaipuro. The guards were brutal and oppressive, but not the worst of the problem. The entire nobility had been turned or replaced by the Duke’s Vampiric Minions.

I sadly report our failure in reclaiming the protective sacred stones. Due to this the vampires gained great power once the sun set. We were invited into an obvious trap at the Duke’s Manor. I attended in hopes of protecting others, but we were no match. The vampires wisely stripped the guests of their weapons, and had a ward upon the manor. A powerful enchantment severed everyone from the weave of magic and surprisingly left no trace, or feeling. There was nothing we could do as Mousse Grenn was brutally slain by the contessa. It was only when we tried to call upon our magic to fight them off did we realize that it was cut off. With Stormbringer I was able to cut down one of the vampire’s handmaidens, but I was faced with the Mayor of Lullin, who had been turned and I had to flee. Unfortunately plate armor makes it difficult to make a getaway and I was cut down in the streets by the contessa. I lay there wounded, bleeding out, and I still do not know how I escaped after the world went black.

Hello Dearest Grove,

Allow me to take the story from here. Your champion managed to blunder into a trap and failed to save anyone, especially poor dear Mousse. It was only through my power puppeteering his unconscious body that he was even able to find safety in the first place. I do hope he will be ever so grateful for that.

Did you know he could not even enter the local Grove of Shiandria? It was as if her holy power repelled him. Why did you forsake him when he needed you the most? Oh, dearest Grove! Where was your divine guidance when the town needed your protection? How could you sit idly by, when the forces of darkness have moved upon your Sacred lands.

Your champion was lucky this time. I’ll be aiding him, for the time being. He doesn’t need you anymore.

I have begun moving with a group of refugees fleeing Lullin. We have received a message that there will be a sea captain willing to help them find a safe harbor. Hopefully, one day, we will be able to return to right what has happened.

Lastly, I would like to request news and aid for the refugees. Is there any word as to how to remove the curse Stormbringer bears? Do you think you have supplies or manpower that could be spared for those displaced and wounded? Please, send word as soon as possible.

Your Loyal Paladin,

Viscount Ar’calima Crann
