Though he is a Dawn Lander by birth and law, he is the son of a high-born Reman mother, and he often carries her silver signet ring—a quiet nod to a heritage of imperial authority that he feels the modern Alliance sometimes lacks.

His tenure at the port began with the highest of intentions, but the isolation of the island and the relentless pressure of his position led to a slow, methodical erosion of his ethics.
