Often known as: militia, peasant fighters, and foot soldiers. This class is seen in every culture to various degrees. Due to their upbringing around farming tools and implements they know how to use a wide range of weapons and are even experienced at hunting.
Playing the Peasant Hero
If you want a character that has access to a wide range of weapons but wears little or no armor, this is the class for you. This class is based on the classic “farm boy” archetype that is young and naive and soon is forced to learn about the wide world. We do not usually have the more exotic LARP weapons that this class can use as loaners, so you will be responsible for coming up with your own.
Abilities:
Armor Allowed: None*
Weapons Allowed: Knife, Dagger, Stick, Club, Pitchfork, One-Handed Axe, Two-Handed Axe, One-Handed Spear, Shortsword, Two-Handed Hammer, Two-Handed Hammer, Scythe, Sickle, Bow and Arrow with three shots per day (3x/day)
Level 1
Farmhand: Choose a single specific weapon to gain a +1 bonus to its damage. Represents a cherished, well-trained weapon tied to farm activities like hunting or woodcutting. Losing it requires a full event of use to regain the bonus. You can modify, upgrade, and enchant this weapon.
Increased Healing: Any time you are healed, the amount of HP you receive is doubled. This is due to your robust health, hard life, and history of working the fields.
Dexterous Movement: Due to your quick movement and dodging ability, you have +1 APR. This stacks with other sources of APR improvement including armor, but does not stack with the Bard ability Performing Armor.
Level 2
Greatsword Training: You can now use greatswords (an Emerald Folk Peasant Hero can now use long spears).
Level 3
Cultural Ability
Level 4
Dual Wielding: You can now dual wield one-handed axes.
Level 5
Village Donation: Your local village has donated an item to your success, whether it be a potion, a basic scroll, a minor magic item, a blessing, a quest item, or something else. Administration will give you an item at the beginning of each event.
Level 6
Cultural Ability
Level 7
Folk Hero: You gain the rank and title of Folk Hero. At the start of each event you gain 5 GP for the sale of your produce or livestock. You are considered a minor noble and Lord even if you have no accumulated royalty points. This means that a Samurai may serve you.
Armor Training: You can now wear Level 1 (Light) Armor (this stacks with dexterous Movement).
Level 8
Improved Farmhand: You can pick an additional weapon type to receive a +1 damage. You can use a longsword.
Level 9
Cultural Ability
Level 10
Lowborn Legend: You now have the rank and title of Lowborn Legend. At the start of each event you gain 10 GP for the sale of your produce or livestock.
Slayer of Evil: Due to the responsibilities in your role as protector of the common folk you now gain the ability to damage creatures that commonly attack your village or shire. You gain an additional +2 damage bonus and a +1 APR bonus vs monsters, were-creatures, undead, bandits, and raiders.
