Scalbound Rider

Background/History The Scalbound are the only known human inhabitants of the "Isles of Echoes." According to Tiss legend, they are the descendants of a lost expedition that vanished centuries ago. Rather than being consumed by the island’s apex predators, they adapted, forming a primal, symbiotic bond with the Shore Reapers. They view the iridescent creatures not as beasts of burden, but as kin. By mimicking the clicking language of the pack and utilizing the island’s natural resins to scent themselves, the Scalbound have earned a seat at the top of the island's food chain. They are a nomadic people, moving with the "Reaper Clutches" and striking with the same terrifying speed as the gale itself.

APR:  2 (due to agility from mount and hide armor)

Hit Points: 12 (due to combined HP from rider and mount)

Attack: Claws and bite and spear.

Abilities

Claws: The Shore Reaper has small arms but attached to those small arms are razor sharp claws. If a claw successfully lands on a target the damage is 1 HP. These are considered piercing, in part due to their sharpness, but primarily due to the Shore Reaper's ability to pick critical points and exposed areas on the target. 

Bite: The teeth of the Shore Reaper are very strong and sharp but are not nearly as agile and dexterous as that of its claws. A bit from a Shore Reaper deals 5 HP damage (NOT PIERCING)

Pounce: The NPC calls out "POUNCE!" and toward the target. If they make contact, the player is knocked to one knee and takes 2 points of damage. The player must remain on one knee for a count of five but may still fight from that position.

Mounted Warrior: You are considered to be mounted. 

Mounted Combat: As this player is considered to be riding their mount into combat, they gain a +1 on damage when using a short spear (lance). If, for some reason, the player is considered to be “on foot” then the player loses this ability. If the mount is lost or stolen for any reason then these abilities are lost until the mount is “regained.”
