Lore: The Shore-Reapers
In-Game Description To the eye of a survivor, a Shore-Reaper is a blur of iridescent, oily scales that shimmer with a sickly green and deep violet hue, perfectly mimicking the humid shadows of the island's ferns. They possess a terrifying, bird-like agility, moving with a fluid grace that defies the dense undergrowth. Their foreclaws are elongated, hooked like a sailor’s gutting knife, and their eyes—faintly glowing with a predatory amber light—possess a cold, calculating intelligence.
Unlike the mindless beasts of the mainland, Shore-Reapers do not merely hunt; they observe, chirping in a complex language of clicks and whistles that sounds unnervingly like a ship’s rigging straining in a storm.
The Tiss Logbooks For centuries, the island nation of Tiss maintained a strict policy of avoidance toward the "Isles of Echoes." The first recorded sighting of the Shore-Reapers comes from the salvaged logbook of Captain Kaelen Drakenmore, commander of the Tiss skiff The Ruby Dart, dated roughly eighty years ago.

While seeking fresh water after a skirmish with pirates, Captain Drakenmore’s crew made landfall on the eastern shore. The logbook describes a "curious silence" that fell over the beach the moment they crossed the treeline. The crew’s scout reported seeing "moving shadows that cut through the jungle faster than a gale-force wind."
The massacre that followed was swift. Drakenmore wrote of creatures that did not attack head-on but used coordinated movement to isolate the backline before Pouncing from the canopy. Only Drakenmore and two oarsmen escaped by launching a lifeboat into the surf. He coined the name Shore-Reapers, claiming the creatures were the island’s way of "reaping the tithe of those who dare touch the sand."
Since that day, Tiss captains have whispered of the "Gale-Runners"—the scouts of the reaper packs—who are said to be able to detect the scent of copper and salt-water from miles away. To the Tiss, these creatures are the living embodiment of the island’s hunger, a primal force that respects no crown, no rank, and no shield.
Culture: Velocoraptor (Lizard)
Class: Beast (Animal)
APR: 1 (due to agility and skin)
Hit Points: 8
Attack: Claws and bite
Abilities
Claws: The Shore Reaper has small arms but attached to those small arms are razor sharp claws. If a claw successfully lands on a target the damage is 1 HP. These are considered piercing, in part due to their sharpness, but primarily due to the Shore Reaper's ability to pick critical points and exposed areas on the target.
Bite: The teeth of the Shore Reaper are very strong and sharp but are not nearly as agile and dexterous as that of its claws. A bit from a Shore Reaper deals 5 HP damage (NOT PIERCING)
Pounce: The NPC calls out "POUNCE!" and toward the target. If they make contact, the player is knocked to one knee and takes 2 points of damage. The player must remain on one knee for a count of five but may still fight from that position.
