The ensuing conflict was brutal, with countless Halfling lives lost. Many of the fallen were themselves twisted and corrupted, joining the ranks of the undead horde. Faced with annihilation, the surviving Halfling clans fled their devastated homeland, seeking refuge amongst their cousins, the Gnomes, in the far reaches of the Dawn Lands.

For generations, the feline folk had held their own, their agility and cunning a match for the brute strength of their enemies. But the war had taken its toll. Their lands were ravaged, their warriors weary, and the whispers of defeat grew louder with each passing moon.
The Catfolk had, for many years, traveled through the gate to trade with the elves of the Western Forest. But now their seemed to be little hope in staying. Families started going through, one at a time at first, but then entire clans and towns came through.
The Catfolk brought with them their warrior spirit, their cunning, and a deep-seated distrust of outsiders, a legacy of their long struggle for survival. After years of bitter conflict, the Legal Slavery faction emerged victorious. For a period, two separate empires emerged, each reflecting the divergent ideologies of the factions. However, in recent times, a charismatic leader has managed to reunify the fractured empire under a single banner.

The War of the Breaking of the Wall began when an alliance of southern nations attacked and destroyed the Guardian's Wall, a massive structure that separated the north from the south. The combined forces of Vanguard and Xerith then pushed past the ruins of the wall and launched a deep invasion into the heart of the Dawn Lands. It was only after the Elvish nations, the Alliance of Dwarven Clans, the Greek City States, the Imperial Reman Republic, and the Dawn Lander militias mustered their forces that the forces of good were able to push the southern nations back beyond the wall.

The dwarves of Clan Gren have denied any allegations associated with King Volstagg’s death and are making preparations to send some of their kin into The Fae Realm in order to help find the needed components to help the Temple of the Seven Moons and the Temple of the Morrigan resurrect him. Word of an opened portal to The Fae Realm has spread - some believe that the Wild Hunt brought back old magic into the lands and allowed for it to be accessed again. There is another rumor among certain groups that there is an item located in The Fae Realm that could help defeat the Demon Lord Orcus and the army of undead. The Raven Queen has sent some of her own to assist the adventurers brave enough to enter The Fae Realm.
Many adventurers set out questing into The Fae Realm to retrieve the items to help resurrect the deceased prince Volstag.
