White Moon Architect (Priest of Lyss) (1.0)

A Priestess of Lyss is a sovereign of cold-hearted intelligence, defensive mastery, and crystalline grace. Draped in garments that mimic the silent purity of freshly fallen snow and bearing the sigil of the White Moon, these priestesses serve as the living calculators of the battlefield. Where other faiths rely on the volatile heat of passion or the brute strength of iron, the followers of Lyss treat warfare as a grand mathematical equation. They believe that emotion is a flaw—a chaotic variable that breeds vulnerability—and that true victory is achieved through flawless architecture, patient defensive positioning, and calculated precision. To a Priestess of Lyss, the battlefield is a canvas where the ferocity of the blizzard and the absolute structure of geometry merge into an unbreakable defense.

Allowed Cultures

This sacred calling is deeply rooted in the history and traditions of the Dawn Lander culture, and it is almost exclusively players from this culture who take up her sacred mantle. However, most anyone from other lands may choose to become one of her followers, provided their worldviews align with her pristine principles.

The rare exceptions to this open path are the Cherokee, Comanche, Jade Empire, Red Sun Empire, and Rabbit Folk, who are restricted from joining due to their vastly differing worldviews. Additionally, the Tiss and the Dark Elf followers of the Dark Lady are strictly prohibited from following Lyss because of direct conflicts with their own patron deities. While the proud Remans highly respect her martial skill and tactical prowess, even seeing her as similar to one of their own revered deities, any Reman who chooses to follow her does so at great social cost, as they may be completely ostracized by Reman society.

Playing the Priest of Lyss: As a White Moon Architect, you are a formidable front-line fusion of defensive fighter, divine spellcaster, and tactical anchor. Rather than chasing glory or healing from the back, you orchestrate the battlefield like a mathematical equation, using shields and early martial training with spears and swords to lock down choke points. Over time, your weapon training expands to absolute mastery over all armaments. To embody the pristine calculus of Lyss, you may wear up to Level 2 armor, though your gear and garments must heavily feature white, light blue, or silver—visual declarations of your devotion to her crystalline purity.

Abilities

Armor Allowed: Level 2 (medium)

Weapons Allowed: Knife, Dagger, Stick, Glub, Shortsword, Longsword, Short Spear, Longspear and shield, and Shortspear and shield.

Level 1

  • Title:

  • Chilling Calculation: By standing completely stationary for a count of 10 and calling out "Calculate!", your weapon charges with divine precision. This charge persists if your strike misses entirely, but is dispelled if it is blocked by a shield. On a successful strike, reduce the target's APR by 1 point. If the target's APR is already at 0, you instead render one of their arms or legs injured and unusable. Either of these effects last until the end of the current encounter, battle, or duel. This ability cannot be used on the same target more than three times per encounter. You have six daily uses, which can be fully restored by praying at a holy site, a fortress, or any temple of the Seven Moons or the Silver Lady.

  • Shield Use: You may use all shields except for body/tower shields (if you are Reman you can use body/tower shield).

  • Divine Scroll Training: You can use Divine scrolls

Level 2

  • Frost Bolt: On a successful strike, the target is completely frozen. They cannot move, act, attack, or defend in any way. This effect lasts until the end of the current encounter, battle, or duel. The freeze is broken instantly if the target takes any damage. However, the protective ice absorbs up to 4 points of fire damage for the target (preventing that damage from reaching their actual health), though receiving any fire damage will still immediately shatter the freeze and free them. You have six daily uses (6x/day), which can be fully restored by praying at a holy site, a fortress, or any temple of the Seven Moons or the Silver Lady. This is a pale blue or light blue spell pack.

  • Tactical Retreat: When needed on the battlefield or in an encounter you execute a mathematically calculated repositioning. By shouting "Tactical Retreat!", you and up to two adjacent allies may safely retreat up to 5 paces backward. Upon this call, an encounter area or local battlefield "Hold!" is declared, stopping all combat and freezing other participants in place. You and your designated allies then have a count of 10 to reposition directly backward, and you cannot move forward or sideways during this movement. If retreating backward would force you into unsafe terrain, you must move backward as far as safely possible, then slightly to the side. You have three daily uses (3x/day), which can be fully restored by praying at a holy site, a fortress, or any temple of the Seven Moons or the Silver Lady.

Level 3

  • Cultural Ability

Level 4

  • Glacial Aegis: You invoke the unbreakable, silent purity of ice. By touching an ally's armor and calling out: "Glacial Aegis!", that ally gains a +1 bonus to APR. If they are not wearing armor then a small bit of ice armor forms, giving them the APR of 1. These points take damage first and shatter elegantly when depleted. This must be called out for all to hear and the target recipient must call out to all that their APR has increased. You have three daily uses (3x/day), which can be fully restored by praying at a holy site, a fortress, or any temple of the Seven Moons or the Silver Lady.

  • Architect of War: Your deep understanding of defensive engineering allows you to patch fortify battle gear. You can touch a target player, NPC, or monster’s shield and spend 10 seconds roleplaying "reinforcing the structure with ice." Once this is completed the target’s shield is not now immune to the shield break ability until the end of the current encounter, battle, or duel. You have one daily use (1x/day), which can be fully restored by praying at a holy site, a fortress, or any temple of the Seven Moons or the Silver Lady.

Level 5

  • Crystalline Bulwark: You project the geometry of a defensive fortification onto the open field. By extending your arm and calling out: "Crystalline Bulwark!". You must use something to mark out this bulwark, such as  ropes, flags, or a pool noodle. This works just like the Farmer’s Boundary Line ability and is overcome by the same abilities as Boundary Line.  This barrier may be up to 10 paces long.  Players, NPCs, and monsters may not cross this barrier (but they may go around) just as they cannot cross a river obstacle. This boundary can be crossed only by abilities that allow river crossing by means of flight, teleportation, or other supernatural means (but not  using Mounted or boat-related abilities.

Level 6

  • Cultural Ability

Level 7

  • Ice Templar : You now gain the rank and title of Ice Templar. You now know how to read and use arcane scrolls.

  • Fracture Point: By standing completely stationary for a count of 10 and calling out "Calculate!", you map the perfect structural weakness in an enemy's defense. You then designate a nearby ally, granting their next melee strike the Piercing property, which bypasses the target's armor completely. This effect does not affect or bypass shields. While your ally holds this charge, you must focus entirely on guiding them; during this time, you cannot attack, but you are free to move and defend yourself. You have one daily use (1x/day), which can be fully restored by praying at a holy site, a fortress, or any temple of the Seven Moons or the Silver Lady.

Level 8

  •  Glacial Sheet: You channel the freezing essence of Lyss, instantly turning the ground into a slick, treacherous sheet of ice. By calling out "Glacial Sheet!" for all to hear, you nullify the Mounted ability for all participants on the battlefield or within the encounter, battle, or duel area. No physical markers are required to represent the frozen ground. A total of 1 fireball for each mounted combatant in the encounter or battle that is “thrown at the glacial sheet” will negate this ability but will also cause 2 points of steam damage to each combatant in the encounter or battle.  This ability can be used once per day and can be fully restored by praying at a holy site, a fortress, or any temple of the Seven Moons or the Silver Lady.

Level 9

  • Cultural Ability

Level 10

  • Sovereign of the White Moon : Gain the rank and title of Sovereign of the White Moon . At the start of each event gain 10 GP as payment from the crown or some other organization. Also, your martial skill and understanding of warfare are matched by very few. You gain proficiency with all weapons in the Dawn Lands LARP.

  • Grand Architecture of Glaciara: You project the flawless geometric design of Lyss’s icy realm directly onto the battlefield, turning your entire adventuring party or combat unit into an impenetrable fortress. By raising your weapon high and commanding: "Grand Architecture!", you and up to four allies standing within three paces of you are instantly bound into a sacred geometric phalanx until the end of the current encounter, battle, or duel. You and your bound allies are completely immune to all physical knockbacks, or forced movement abilities. The air around your phalanx crystallizes into a geometric mirror making everyone in your party or unit immune to arrows and bolts (but not spells due to their magical nature). Whenever an enemy strikes a member of your party or unit protected by this ability the attacker instantly takes one point of frost damage and is forced to take three paces backward. This ability can be used once per day and can be fully restored by praying at a holy site, a fortress, or any temple of the Seven Moons or the Silver Lady.
