Challenge Goal: To narratively resolve the events surrounding the Court of Lullin and the Crimson Harvest, cementing your character's state and actions into the official Dawn Lands lore. Every story submitted will directly influence the narrative details of the next major event.
Event Focus: Your story must cover your character's activities during the period known as Court of Lullin that occurred during the Crimson Harvest fall festival.
I. Submission Requirements (The Three Paths)
Players must select the path that accurately reflects their character's final status and location during the events of the Crimson Harvest.
Path A: Not Present at the Crimson Harvest
You were elsewhere in the Dawn Lands or beyond.
Requirement: Your story must explain why your character was not present at the festival grounds or the Court of Lullin. Describe in detail the alternate activities that occupied your character's time.
Example Focus: Hunting a specific monster, pursuing a long-term goal, being detained, or simply choosing to stay home out of caution. Your actions must justify your absence from a major event.
Path B: Present at the Harvest, but Not at the Court
You were at the festival/harvest grounds but successfully avoided the direct conflict and the immediate danger of the Court. Or, you were attacked in the town by the vampires and their minions after the court ended.
Requirement: Your story must explain where your character was located (e.g., in the merchant district, tending to a wounded friend, hiding in a barn, etc) and why they chose or were forced to avoid the Court proceedings. Describe your actions during the period of high conflict
Example Focus: Securing vital artifacts, evacuating non-combatants, acting as a lookout, or being injured and seeking immediate refuge.
Path C: Slain at the Court of Lullin
Your character was reduced to 0 HP and died during the conflict at the Court. (Per LARP rules, your character became a ghost at that moment).
Requirement: Your story must detail the events immediately following your death. You have two narrative options to explain your character’s return to a living state:
The Ghostly Journey: Describe your journey as a ghost moving away from the Court, seeking sanctuary at a temple, shrine, or known healer location, and the subsequent resurrection ritual.
The Narrative Grace: Describe how, despite falling to 0 HP, a brief, critical intervention (a last-second aid from a friend, a quick use of magic, or “plot armor”) allowed you to stay conscious just long enough to be stabilized and taken immediately to a healer for swift, off-screen revival.
II. Format and Deadline
Length: As long as you want but at least 300 words. This will be added to the World Anvil site, possibly our website, and our upcoming Book of Lore. By submitting this you give us permission to publish it. Please attach your character name, or real name, or both so we can give you credit.
III. The Consequence (MANDATORY)
This challenge is mandatory for all characters who were slain at the Court of Lullin and wish to start the next event as a living character.
Completion: If your character was slain at the Court and you submit a complete story (Path C), your character starts the next event fully alive and healed.
Non-Completion (The Penalty): If your character was slain at the Court and you do not submit a story for Path C, your character will start the next event they attender an active ghost (intangible, invisible, only able to communicate with certain individuals) and must seek a healer or temple in-game to be resurrected.
